The zoo sells more than a gate ticket. This guide sets its breakfast, elephant, capybara and after-hours programs side by side on session time, length, inclusions and from-price, so you can pick one before you pay.
Editorial team, balizoobreakfast.com · Updated November 3, 2026 · A read of about 6 min
The programs in brief
The zoo groups its offers into single, combo and stay packages, and its listed breakfast, brunch, mud fun and explorer packages show a hotel return transfer option.6 That structure explains why a search for Bali Zoo packages turns up so many near-identical names: one animal, a few session times and a few ways of adding lunch.
Underneath, every program does the same job. It adds a timed encounter to the standard admission, which already holds the Jungle Encounter, presentations, water play and insurance.7 So the useful comparison is not whether you see the zoo, but which encounter you want on top.
The platform listings carry the same programs with from-prices in dollars, lengths as listed and a cancellation line. Where the zoo's page and a listing disagree on length, trust the zoo for the session time and the listing for the booking terms.

Prices are platform from-prices and lengths and languages as listed.
The headline program runs from 08:00 to 10:00 and lists about 5 hours in all, with a last check-in at 08:30.8,1 It includes the admission ticket, a full breakfast, the Jungle Encounter, presentations, water play and insurance.10
The listing starts from $43, lists 5 to 7 hours and is rated 4.56 from 1,032 reviews. Pickup is optional, and the schedule runs breakfast, the zoo and shows from 10:00 to 12:00, then the return at 14:00.
This is the package to book when the apes are the reason you came. The zoo warns that orangutan behavior shapes the encounter, so treat the animals as the guests of honor and the meal as the plan.11
Fares from low to high
Each listing's lowest from-price at the time of writing; all are starting prices and none is a quote.
The zoo says it is home to 14 elephants, and it sells them in several shapes.3 Elephant Explorer is a 1.5 hour session from 10:00 to 11:30 in a ranger car, with feeding and a refreshment.3,4
Elephant Mud Fun is the long one: about 7 hours, with the morning session running 09:30 to 14:00 and a minimum child height of 120 cm.9,13 Guests bring their own change of clothes, and heavy rain can pause the activity.14
The platform's elephant care listing starts from $78 and lists 7 hours; the combined breakfast and elephant care day starts from $98 and lists 7 to 9 hours. Our sister site on elephants covers that program in depth.

A guided after-hours visit
Bali Zoo's Brunch with Capybara is a 90 minute session from 09:30 to 11:00, with capybara feeding, a meal and one drink, and zoo admission.2,15 The listing starts from $39 and is wheelchair accessible.
A Bali Zoo capybara experience also exists without the meal: the guided capybara observation starts from $31 and lists 1 to 6 hours. Both have few reviews so far, 27 and 28.
They suit visitors who want calm, close contact more than spectacle. Because the sessions are short, they combine easily with a general ticket, as the zoo stays open until 17:00.16
One zoo, several clocks
Behind Closed Doors lasts 2 hours, from 4 to 6 PM, with a last check-in at 15:00.5 It includes zoo admission, a snack and drink and a guided back-of-house tour, and you may arrive earlier to see the daytime attractions.17
The listing starts from $47, lists 2 to 5 hours and is rated 4.82 from 40 reviews. Pickup runs at 1:00 PM from Kuta, Nusa Dua, Seminyak and Jimbaran and 1:30 PM from Sanur and Ubud.
It is the quietest option and the one for visitors who dislike the busiest hours. Comfortable walking shoes are advised, since the tour walks through several areas.

Before you reserve
The zoo's Half-Day Explorer lists about 5 hours, with a lunch and a hotel return transfer.18 It is the package for guests who want the zoo without an early breakfast.
The beach club combination pairs breakfast at the zoo with Flamingo Bali Family Beach Club on Saba Beach, a 3-course lunch and a pool. The listing lists 6 hours and starts from $95, with no reviews yet.
Treat unrated listings with care: the price and the schedule are real, but there is no guest feedback to lean on yet, so read the inclusions line by line.
Because every package already includes admission, there is rarely a reason to buy a general ticket on top of one.10,2,17 The exception is a second visit on another day, where the plain entrance ticket, valid for 1 day, is the cheaper way back in.
Two programs in one day are possible only when their windows do not collide. The 08:00 breakfast ends at 10:00 and the Elephant Explorer begins at 10:00, so the second would need the last minutes of the first.1,4 Ask the zoo whether a combined booking exists before trying.
The combined listings exist for that reason: breakfast with elephant care lists 7 to 9 hours and handles the sequence itself, with a 50 minute drive each way from the pickup. You pay more, but you do not juggle check-ins.
Indonesia's tourism ministry puts the dry season at April to October and the wet season at November to March for most of the country, Bali included.19 Denpasar's rainfall normals from the Japan Meteorological Agency show 27.6 mm in July against 350.7 mm in January.20,21
Those are coastal airport normals, not the zoo's own weather, so treat them as a guide to the season rather than a forecast for Singapadu. What matters for programs is the mud session, which the zoo pauses when rain lifts the river.14
For a first visit, the dry months make the outdoor programs easier. In the wet months a flexible cancellation line is worth more than a small saving, and the shorter sessions are easier to move.
The zoo calls its tickets non-refundable on its own pages, while the platform listings allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before.11 Read the terms of the page you pay on.
Children on the mud and elephant programs face the 120 cm minimum, and the zoo offers no babysitting; parents stay responsible for children left at the restaurant.13,22
Program availability depends on conditions, so keep a spare half hour in your plan and ask at check-in which sessions are running that day.
Choose the breakfast for orangutans, the capybara brunch for a quiet start, an elephant session for bigger animals and Behind Closed Doors for late light and fewer people.
Choose by the clock, too. A 08:00 breakfast, a 09:30 brunch, a 10:00 explorer session and a 4 PM tour cannot be stacked casually, since each has its own check-in.1,15,4,5
If you want only one, take the breakfast: it is the program built around the zoo's best-known encounter, and it includes the admission that every other program also needs.10
